Abstract

The present study established cell suspensions from the friablecallus derived from the stem explant of broad bean (Vi cia faba) axenicseedlings. These suspensions of certain densities were cultured byembedding in agar, using three methods of culture including, multipledrop arrays (MDA), thin layers and sectors. In the presence of MS andSH liquid medium forming solid - liquid medium. The results indicated that all methods succeeded at culturing cellsuspension using MS medium. Moreover, these methods sustained callusf01mation. Multiple Drop Array (MDA) induced callus at ratio of 68% inMS medium, and 48% in SH medium. All pieces of callus primordiacontinued their growth and increased in size.
